JOIN THE BCB!

The Birmingham Concert Band is an acknowledged leader among community bands in the state of Michigan. The band has entertained audiences by performing the best literature for concert bands and featuring guest artists of stature, in addition to providing a creative outlet for area musicians. We also have premiered newly commissioned works, and have added in a biannual Dinner Dance - not just a fundraising event, but a chance to play some fun literature that we might not play during a typical concert season. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings in the Birmingham Covington School band room from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. (typically August through June).

 

Membership is open to all adults with previous instrumental ensemble experience, and all performers who play a concert band instrument are welcome. There is no audition required, but there is a three-rehearsal tryout period required before acceptance as a full-time BCB member. If you decide to join, membership dues in the amount of $50.00 will be collected at the time of joining, and annually thereafter in August. All BCB members are expected to participate in performances, attend rehearsals, and have their music prepared prior to performances.
 

Experienced musicians are always welcome in all sections, including string bass.
